Here is a summary:

1) I've used Bettencourt Electric for years; it's a father-son outfit and they've been doing business in San Jose forever. They charge about $70/hour and will work on any size job from rewiring, to panel upgrades to chandelier installations.

2) We also recommend John Perry [I mentioned him in the original email below-Rick]. Nice guy, good work, reasonable rates.

3) I was extremely happy w/ CLAUSEN (sp?) when I redid the WHOLE system in my 1916 w/ the original glass fuses. Good price, on time, flexible , helpful suggestions. I acted as my own general contractor and redid the house completely and his company was one of the best.

4) The electrician we have used is Joe Pellegrini at 371-6556. He is retired and does part time work. He is honest and does a good job!

Thanks everyone, for the suggestions! I'm doing my part trying to keep the economy rolling with all of the renovation we're doing...I just hope I don't lose my job so that I won't have any money to spend!
